A Wentzville man has been indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury for embezzling more than $11,000 from his employer.
According to a probable cause statement, Wentzville Police officials say the crime took place between October 23rd through November 10th, 2023, at an area Dollar Tree store.
Officials say Markell Wright would activate a store gift card using his employee credentials, and then keep the card for his own use.
They say he did this approximately 124 times.
At one point, the store’s loss prevention team questioned Wright, during which he admitted to the crime, telling police he was bringing money home to help his parents.
Wright will be arraigned on September 11.
