Road construction is being scheduled for Interstate 70 across St. Charles County.
According to MODOT, drivers can expect delays across St. Peters near the route 79 bridge and I-70.
It’s part of a long-term project that is scheduled to rehab multiple bridges across the interstate, including 12 here in the Metro West.
Stage 1 will restrict southbound 79 to 2 lanes across the bridge over 70, and will close both of the northbound lanes…with detours in place for motorists.
It’s also recommended to take Mexico Road as an alternative until the bridge work is completed in October.
Meanwhile, the repair work on the Brian Road bridge has finished and crews have reopened that intersection this week.
The multi-stage bridge work is expected to be completed sometime in December.
