Chesterfield Mall had a 48-year run, and that’s outlasted most modern American malls, but come Saturday the power is shutting off and demolition is set for Oct. 15. A new development is already making big strides to revamp the Chesterfield shopping experience, including negotiating with Dillard’s to finally reopen their doors after years of stagnation. Plans include mixed-use development of apartments and businesses. Macy’s will be redeveloped to include retail on the first floor and opening the upper levels as offices, where medical and data companies have already shown interest in finding their home.
