St. Charles County is continuing to offer buyouts for homes heavily impacted by the 2019 floods, backed by a $15.7 million federal grant aimed at reducing future flood risks. The county has contacted 947 potentially eligible homeowners, with 45 applications currently moving forward. The voluntary program focuses on purchasing flood-prone properties, demolishing the structures, and converting the land to open space. However, some residents have expressed frustration over low buyout offers based on pre-flood property values. Priority is given to low-to-moderate-income homeowners, and the county urges those interested to apply soon.

A Missouri first responder and military veteran testified before the Missouri House Veterans and Armed Forces Committee in support of a Missouri House Bill, which would allow military veterans to use psychadellic mushrooms for PTSD, depression and other psychological issues plaguing veterans. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Richard West, would regulate mushroom use in controlled medical settings. Supporters, including therapists and military veterans, argued that traditional treatments like antidepressants and counseling have failed many, while mushrooms have shown promising results. The committee has yet to vote on the bill, and no opposition was voiced during the hearing.
